In Touch Massage

Updated: 6 days ago

Are you struggling to relax? Do you feel breathless, stiff or need to press pause?

Having a sick child in hospital can have a profound and challenging impact on a parent's psychological wellbeing.

I have spent considerable hours sitting next to my son's bedside, often feeling anxious and unable to leave, and the nights sleeping on the pull down bed next to him. It's exhausting!

There is significant evidence that parent's distress in hospital can impact on a child's ability to cope and cooperate with procedures. The statistics and my first-hand experience of staying for lengthy admissions was the inspiration behind In Touch Massage.

In Touch Massage in a collaboration between myself and Melinda Edward, MBE Paediatric Psychologist. It is supported by Guy's and St Thomas' Trust charity and is available for parents and carers who are staying with their children during their admission at Evelina London.
